A social October

Hello, hello to all my friends, family and adoring fan(s). I am once again overdue with an update. In part this is because I've been busy spending time with great folks -- including some of you! Read on to see what I did in October. It's a long post, so you might want to grab a favorite beverage and settle in. And please leave me a comment if you saw me last month (or wish you had).

Finding time for fun

I'm in the middle of my last month of work for the 2013 season with Glacier Guides & Montana Raft Company. Business has slowed down considerably. And less work means time for more play!

Two months... in the blink of an eye

Whoa! I've been living and working around Glacier National Park for more than two months already. It's hard to believe it's been so long -- and that I've been so bad about keeping up this blog. Life has been simultaneously busier and simpler than I expected. Plus, the internet connection where I stay is appallingly slow. But I've found some lovely coffee shops with speedy WiFi, and I do have an occasional day off. So let's get caught up!

2,551 miles: the long way from Seattle to West Glacier

Hi! I'm back, and excited to deliver this overdue blog post. I am camped in West Glacier, Montana, still unsure just what my summer will be like. But the trip here already created many great memories. I drove 2,551 miles over two weeks -- from Seattle to southeast Oregon to southern Idaho to the Continental Divide to Missoula, Montana... and then to the edge of Glacier National Park. The following rather lengthy post is a summary of this road adventure, complete with clickable photos and links to photo albums!

Scratching an itch

I'm off on an adventure. A big, life-changing adventure. I know roughly where it will begin. I have no idea where it will end. I am excited, energized, uncertain, curious, eager, nervous -- and a bit behind on my sleep.

I've started this, my first "blog," concurrent with a new chapter in my life. I want to provide a forum to capture some stories and share my journey(s) with any of my friends and family who want to follow along.
